The Committee for Higher Education and Institutional Research meets to examine and discuss operational affairs pertaining to higher education and institutional research with the objective of reflecting the outcomes in university policy, then establishes policies regarding CHEIR’s activities as described below.
With university faculty who specialize in higher education studies playing a lead role, CHEIR engages in various activities in accordance with its activity policy, such as research concerning the philosophical principles and purpose of higher education, or the self-evaluation and self-examination of Waseda University’s role in society and its educational productivity.
The Academic Affairs Division and Center for Higher Education Studies host round table discussions, open to all Waseda faculty and administrative staff, as part of the efforts to establish an Internal Quality Assurance System of education.
