【日本企業を知るシリーズ】２０２４年度 第３回：住友林業
2023年度にはトヨタ自動車、ファーストリテイリング、富士通をお招きし、早稲田大学の留学生限定で業界研究イベントを開催しました。2024年度にも様々な業界から代表する企業をお招きしていきますが、今回は特に林業・住宅業界について、グローバルにビジネス展開される住友林業をお招きします。
同社には毎年多くの早大卒業生を採用していただいており、多くのグローバル人材が活躍されています。つきましては、採用担当者から同社の経営理念やグローバル人材の採用方針、人材育成の考え方等をご紹介いただくほか、現役の外国籍社員も登壇し、就職活動当初の経験や住友林業に入社した決め手、仕事のやりがい等を語っていただきます。留学生の皆様にとっては、グローバル企業の経営戦略や人材採用等について、理解を深めることができる貴重な機会です！

内容
林業・住宅業界を切り口に、住友林業の経営理念、グローバル人材の採用方針、人材育成の他、外国籍社員の目線で見た会社もご紹介します。またQAセッションを通じて住友林業の外国籍社員と意見交換ができます。なお、本イベントはキャリア教育啓発プログラムと位置付け、企業の採用活動との関係はありません。

SUMITOMO FORESTRY visits international students in Waseda
In 2023, we invited TOYOTA, FAST RETAILING and FUJITSU to carry out “Knowing Japanese Companies” in order to deepen your understanding of different industries and companies. In 2024, we will continue to invite companies from different industries to help international students at Waseda to do the research for industries as well as companies. This time, in order to deepen your understanding of the industry, SUMITOMO FORESTRY, the global developer of Forestry & Housing industry, will hold a face-to-face event exclusively for international students at Waseda.
SUMITOMO FORESTRY has recruited many graduates from Waseda every year, including international talents. Therefore, staff from SUMITOMO FORESTRY will introduce about their business as well as strategic vision, recruitment policy for international talents. You will also have a chance to meet SUMITOMO FORESTRY’s international staff to hear about their job-hunting experiences, reason to join SUMITOMO FORESTRY and so on.
