The World Academy for Endurance Medicine was established in July 2022 as a joint venture between the World Athletics Health & Science Department and the International Institute for Race Medicine (IIRM). Through education, research, and the development of medical best practices, the Academy aims at upskilling health care professionals providing medical support at World Athletics Label events and other mass participation endurance events around the world.
A video introducing the organization has been updated, and Associate Professor Yuri Hosokawa (School of Sport Sciences), who was selected as an Expert and Advisory Board member, has made a commentary appearance.
The World Academy for Endurance Medicine Expert and Advisory Board is an advisory body supporting and approving the Academy’s education, research, and development activities.
It is a great honor that Associate Professor Hosokawa is the only female expert from Asia who has been selected as one of the member.
