This article will regularly update the latest information pertaining to the change in classes and events due to the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). The Class of 2019 International Student is NOT applicable to those are expected to graduate in autumn 2020.
1. Conferment of diploma (Updated on March 19th)
As the university website announces, provided the current situation on the coronavirus and protection of the well-being of students, parents, faculty, and staff, the university has decided to cancel the AY2019 university-wise graduation ceremony to be scheduled at Waseda Arena on March 26. The AY2019 department-wise ceremony, which was expected to take place on the same date, has been cancelled in conjunction. 2. Temporary close of the Administrative Offices (Updated on April 7th)
While curbing the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), all operation at the Tokorozawa and Higashi-fushimi Administrative Offices is temporarily suspended as follows:
Period of implementation: April 8th to 21st, 2020 (*subject to change)
*Please know that this measurement is taken to alleviate the infectious possibilities and risks.
3. Extended Working Hours of the Automatic Certificate Issuing Machine (Updated on March 18th)
Shortening office operating hours indicates that you are promoted to go and get the certificates automatically at the exclusive machines mounted inside Waseda main campus within the extended working hours: https://www.waseda.jp/navi/e/services/opentime-certificates.html#section7
Note 1): Graduating students are highly recommended to obtain a variety of certificates by the end of March.
Note 2): In light of diminishing the increased risks at crowded modes of transportation, we strongly encourage students to visit other campuses than Tokorozawa campus at staggered hours on public transportation.
