Message

I decided to join my program because this school provides a curriculum that responds to the objective of my master’s degree study: to expand my knowledge and improve skills that will help me pursue my career goal as a creative content writer. Unlike other programs in other universities, GSICCS offers courses that are related to various aspects of communication including media, culture, politics, psychology, and linguistics, which shows that the school has a visionary view towards communication in global society. Another attractive thing about GSICCS is its diversity. Students come from different cultural backgrounds, yet they are open-minded in sharing and learning about different cultures. My favorite classes are creative writing, media and cultural studies, text analysis, and research methods, which give me an opportunity to advance crucial skills to become a writer.

My research topic is about Christianity’s influence on Japanese popular culture, for which I am working under Professor Adrian J. Pinnington. Being able to work with him helps me greatly, thanks to his feedback and guidance on my research.
