Newspaper and magazine articles, as well as other written materials that mention the works of Haruki Murakami or himself, collected by his office and deposited with the Waseda International House of Literature (WIHL), will be available for viewing at our Research Collection Stacks starting Friday, April 3, 2026 (with some restrictions on use*).
The articles include interviews, research papers, book reviews, and publication advertisements. They also serve as valuable archival materials documenting transitions of criticism since his literary debut, trends in the publishing industry, and social conditions.
The “Articles about Haruki Murakami” and “Articles about Haruki Murakami: Original Sources” materials are in our Closed Stacks area (no entry). Therefore, users are required to search for them via the Waseda University Cultural Resource Database and submit a request for access at the Research Collection Stacks.
