On February 13, 2025, the director and staff of the Seoul National University Archives visited the Waseda University History Museum. Representing the Seoul National University Archives, Professor Park Heung-sik, the director, along with archivists and curators, participated in the visit. This visit was conducted with the cooperation of the Waseda University Cultural Affairs Division and aimed to tour the facilities and conduct research on archival activities.
In the morning, the delegation toured the History Museum in Building 1 and the Sports Museum. After a lunch break, they proceeded to visit the Higashifushimi Archives in the afternoon. At the Higashifushimi Archives, the delegation was given a tour of the storage facilities, followed by a briefing and Q&A session on university history compilation and the current status and challenges of archival operations.
Professor Park introduced Seoul National University Archives’ relocation to a new archival facility in 2024, consolidating three previously dispersed storage facilities into a single site. The archivists and curators from Seoul National University raised specific questions regarding Waseda University’s storage methods, budget. and HR allocation, and collaboration with the library. Through this exchange of ideas, Waseda University and Seoul National University were able to share common challenges in archival management.
