The Autumn 2023 entrance ceremonies for undergraduate and graduate students will be held in September.

Only new students are invited to attend the ceremonies. A live broadcast viewing area will be set up on Toyama Campus for guardians of students.

New students who are feeling unwell or do not feel comfortable coming to campus may view the ceremony live online.

The date, time, proceedings, and rules of the ceremonies might change due to the status of the Covid-19 pandemic at that time.

Date & Time: September 23 (Sat) 11:00-12:00 JST

Venue: Waseda Arena, Toyama Campus

Live broadcast viewing area for guardians of students

• We have set up a live broadcast viewing area for gurdians of students in Building 33 of the Toyama Campus (This is streaming using classroom facilities. Also, it is the same video as the Internet live stream).

• There is no limit to the number of visitors per family at the live broadcast viewing area.

Please note:

• We will be asking all participating graduating students to monitor their temperature the day of the ceremony, before leaving their homes. Those with a fever or fever-like symptoms will be unable to participate in-person.
• Both the ceremony venue and the simultaneous broadcast venue are scheduled to open one hour before the ceremony starts. Please note that it will take some time to enter the ceremony venue (Waseda Arena), so please come to the venue at least 30 minutes before the ceremony starts.
• Please strictly follow the guideline of university regarding participating in celebrations that involve eating and drinking (including personal events).
• Okuma Garden (Waseda campus) is open from 8:00 – 17:00, but closed if it’s raining.
• New students with support requests, such as visual guidance, sign language interpretation, venue guidance, seat reservation, or considerations for attending with children, please contact the General Affairs Section three weeks before the day of the entrance ceremonies. The University will try to accommodate such requests.
