Toward the Summer Holidays
A message from the President
July 19, 2022
Dear students of Waseda University,
My colleagues and I sincerely hope that you are finishing this semester/quarter in good health and without any problems.
I regret having to inform you that we cannot relax the guidelines for student activities before the summer holidays. Due to the sharp increase in the number of those infected with Covid-19 in the last two weeks or so, we reached the conclusion that we should strongly recommend you not to hold parties during the summer holidays; varsity athletic clubs and student circles, however, will be allowed to hold summer camps so long as you take the utmost precautions to prevent Covid-19 infections. For details, please reread the notification issued by the Dean of Student Affairs on July 13, 2022.
We are very sorry to inform you of this, but we hope that adhering to these guidelines will give our students the greatest possibility of a return to normal student life sometime this autumn. With this in mind, please be patient and practice self-control one more summer.
We all are looking forward to seeing you students back on Waseda University campuses refreshed and in good health. Have a nice summer!
With best regards,
Aiji Tanaka, President
Waseda University
