Kiyomi Watanabe, a student at the School of Sport Sciences and member of the Waseda Judo Club, competed as the representative of the Philippines and won the bronze medal in the Paris Grand Slam for the 63kg class. Like the Olympics, the World Championships and World Masters, Grand Slam is an international judo competition with significant influence over world rankings.
