The Waseda Athlete Association hosted the 2016 Sports Parade and Oath Ceremony under the sunny, blue sky on May 21. Sports entrance and award ceremonies were held on the same day by the Athletic Center.
44 newly inducted club members donned their brand new uniforms and marched proudly from Takadanobaba to the Waseda campus under the warm weather, receiving words of encouragement from local residents and parents along the way.
The oath ceremony started once the new club members arrived in front of Okuma Auditorium. Two representatives from the inducted members recited the swear-in speech and exhibited Waseda’s athletic spirit inherited from upperclassmen. After the entrance and award ceremonies followed by Waseda Athletic Proclamation, the ceremony united participants as everyone sang the University’s anthem at the end.
