Mon, Jun 6, 2016The prospects of sports for a fruitful, healthy life
Life expectancy of Japanese people has been top-class globally for some years, and interests in longevity and healthy life have been increasing. To meet these expectations, being both mentally and physically healthy is the key. I chose to study this course because I believe sports will become a vital part of this goal. I want many people to participate in sports. In order to do so, we must create a fun, inviting environment where everyone feels free to join. In the future, I look forward to ensuring people’s happiness by becoming a public servant. To realize this goal, I’m studying how to set up a friendly environment and plan reforms so that people feel more motivated in becoming sport enthusiasts in my seminar. Let’s think together about the prospects of integrating health and sports.

Scientifically analyzing health issues through massive data
It is crucial for an athlete to be healthy, but health is also necessary for everyone to live a fruitful life. I chose the Course of Health Promotion because I felt what I learn will help me throughout life. We don’t just listen to lectures, but we gain plenty of experience and knowledge from training and group work. In my epidemiology seminar, we scientifically analyze massive data about health issues of our interest. Although I am still in the process of learning, looking for patterns and trends within the data is very interesting to me. I am intrigued by this course which allows me to think about sports and health from a scientific perspective. It really stimulates my curiosity and motivation to pursue my studies.
