Okuma Garden, open during class days

Many students soak up the sun as they relax

A month has passed since the start of a new academic year.

The warmer weather hints the arrival of early summer while the spring breeze flows through the serene, green garden.

The verdurous campus is also full of energy of students starting to hit the books and fully participate in volunteer and club activities. The newly admitted students who may have had anxiety about starting their student life at Waseda are now completely absorbed into the campus’ atmosphere, making Waseda their second home.

Azaleas and wisterias are now in full bloom at Okuma Garden, where you can enjoy spring at its best. During lunch, students sit on the lawn as they relax. Some read quietly while others chat with their friends on the bench in the shade. Each student is free to do whatever helps them relax and prepare for the afternoon as they bask in the sun.

Okuma Garden is open to the public when classes are in session. We would love for you to join us on a lovely, sunny day.
