Waseda mourns the passing of Dr. Boutros-Ghali, sixth Secretary-General of the United Nations
Fri, Feb 19, 2016Waseda University joins the world in mourning the passing of the sixth Secretary-General of the United Nations, Boutros Boutros-Ghali. It is with a grieving heart that we bid farewell to the outstanding global leader who tirelessly sought world peace.
Only a month after Dr. Boutros-Ghali assumed the post of Secretary-General of the United Nations, the world watched in admiration as he carried out important organizational reforms in the United Nations. In 1993, Waseda University presented Dr. Boutros-Ghali an honorary doctorate.
