It is with great sadness that are informed of the passing of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia on January 23rd.
King Abdullah significantly contributed to the education of Waseda students through the King Abdullah Scholarship Program and helped Waseda University grow through projects that promote interaction between Waseda and Saudi Arabian academic institutions. Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz and newly appointed king was awarded an honorary doctorate by Waseda University in February of 2014.
