‘Katsumori’ (勝守り) victory charm

Hosen-ji(宝泉寺) Temple is located right outside the south gate of Waseda University. The temple is approximately 1,200 years old and previously occupied a large portion of Waseda University’s campus. The temple is well known for its Katsumori (勝守り), or ‘victory charm’ which has a white ‘W’ embroidered on a bordeaux cloth. The charm is popular among entrance exam test-takers and is believed to provide protection and support.  General entrance exams began yesterday and we wish all test-takers the best of luck.
