France Study Abroad Promotion Tour is an event where Campus France visits universities across Japan to promote studying abroad in France and learning the French language. In its fourth year, the tour is set to visit fourteen universities nationwide, from Akita in the north to Nagasaki in the south, by a Peugot car.
On October 12, France Study Abroad Japan Promotion Tour 2016 came to Waseda University, and the French Ambassador Thierry Dana visited the Waseda campus. He spoke in front of students interested in studying abroad in France about programs available in English at French universities and internships specifically targeting Japanese students. Furthermore, the Ambassador emphasized how studying French could lead to many exciting opportunities. Many African countries use French as their official language and the first official language of the Olympic Committee is French; therefore, students could contribute to developments in Africa and the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games in future through French.
Ambassador Dana added that in addition to the high-quality programs available at French universities, studying in France means learn and live in the heart of Europe. “The decision is in your hands,” he said. “Studying French opens doors to many other doors.”
At the end of the information meeting, there was a Q&A session where the Ambassador directly answered the questions from the students.
A booth was set outside for interested students to speak with those having experience studying abroad in France and French international students.
