Yuzuru Hanyu wins silver medal at World Figure Skating Championships

Olympic figure skater and Waseda University student Yuzuru Hanyu placed second overall at the 2015 World Figure Skating Championships, where he scored a season’s best in the short program and entered as first place in the free skate competition. He scored 95.20 in the short program and 175.88 in the free skate competition, for a total score of 271.08.
This is Hanyu’s third medal in the World Figure Skating Championships, having won a bronze medal in 2012 and a gold medal in 2014.
Hanyu studies Human Informatics and Cognitive Sciences as part of Waseda University’s e-school.
