On Monday, April 13, 2026, the Master Kong International Scholarship Award Ceremony was held at Building 26 of Waseda University.
The Master Kong International Scholarship is jointly implemented by Waseda University and Tingyi (Cayman Islands) Holding Corp. and KSF Beverage Holding Co. Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Master Kong”) as part of their collaborative initiatives. Master Kong is China’s largest comprehensive food manufacturer, with instant foods and beverages as its core businesses.
The scholarship is awarded to international graduate students from China (including Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Macao) who are enrolled in master’s programs at Waseda University.
The program began with the first cohort of students, who enrolled in September 2022, and the most recent scholarship recipients, who enrolled in September 2025, comprise the fourth cohort.

At the ceremony, scholarship certificates were awarded to the fourth cohort of scholarship recipients, and Mr. CHENG, Xu, Vice President of Master Kong, delivered his message online from China, while Professor Kate Elwood, Dean of International Affairs of Waseda University, took the stage to offer words of encouragement to the students.
Next, a representative of the third cohort of scholarship recipients delivered a speech, after which each fourth‑cohort recipient took the stage to share their aspirations for their future studies as well as their academic and career goals.
Participation in an internship is also incorporated into the scholarship program, offering recipients a valuable opportunity to gain practical, real‑world experience in addition to their academic studies.
During the ceremony, representatives from Master Kong provided an overview of the internship program scheduled to take place primarily in Shanghai, China. The fourth‑cohort scholarship recipients listened attentively to the detailed explanation, and many actively participated in the question‑and‑answer session, demonstrating strong interest in the program.
The award ceremony was followed by a networking reception, providing a meaningful opportunity for third- and fourth-cohort scholarship recipients to deepen their connections and build networks for the future.
