High quality sound and lighting equipment

Have you noticed a new black building on Nanmon street? This is Waseda’s hub for theater, the Dramakan Theater.

Reconstruction of the Dramakan Theater began in 2012 and was completed last month. Despite its small size, the theater is installed with equipment capable of high quality sound and video. The theater can be used for a variety of theatrical performances thanks to its wide ceiling, stage with removable sections, and storage area under the stage.

The Dramakan Fest event to commemorate the opening of the theater was held on April 8 to May 10 and featured many theatrical troupes with ties to Waseda. There are plans to hold performances from various student troupes in the future. Why not take this opportunity to experience the world of theater?

May performances

May 29 (Friday) to May 31 (Sunday): Gekidanshin
