主 旨 / Outline
アフリカ、とりわけエチオピアは、人類の出現からホモ・サピエンスの誕生に至る化石記録が連綿と出土しています。人類は、遅くとも260万年前には恒常的な石器作りを開始し、以後石器は人類史の99％以上の期間にわたって、彼らの主要な道具であり続けました。本展では、最古の確固たる打製石器、最古の「デザイン」された石器、出アフリカを果たしたホモ・サピエンスの石器など、世界水準の資料を紹介し、石器テクノロジーの変遷から人類の進化史を辿る旅にご案内いたします。
