From academic questions to riddles, creating questions across all genres is fun.
"Waseda University Sakumon student club"
Secretary-General: Kei Negishi, 3rd year student, Faculty of Science School of Fundamental Science and Engineering
The Waseda University Sakumon student club is an intercollegiate student club that creates questions using the knowledge of student club members, and its activities mainly consist of selling self-made question sets at WASEDASAI and Science Rikoten, and posting questions on social media. The genres of question are diverse, and the club works on creating questions in a wide range of fields, not only in the five main subjects of mathematics, English, Japanese, science, and social studies, but also in elective subjects such as home economics and information technology, and even riddles of any genre.
We'll share an overview of student club, its actual activities, the appeal of creating questions, and our thoughts on our daily work through messages from student club members and the founder!
Reomaru (graduate School of Education, founder of the sakumon student club)
We founded this group in 2023 with the hope that it would become a place where people who enjoy creating questions can have fun. Its greatest appeal is the close-knit atmosphere! Many members interact outside of school, regardless of their grade level. Now in our fourth year, we are constantly evolving!

I joined because I saw on social media how friendly and harmonious the senior members were, and I wanted to be a part of it. I had almost no experience creating questions until I became a university student, but after seeing student club members, I started creating questions while thinking about what I wanted to convey in my own way. At first, I had the impression that question creation was only for mathematics, but the fact that you can create questions for any subject is appealing! Personally, I often create questions from physics, chemistry, and university lectures.

The process of creating questions involves a lot of trial and error, which is great because it deepens your own understanding. Above all, it's rewarding to have your learning process preserved as a "question" in the form of a finished product. We can also appreciate and solve each other's work, share our insights, and receive feedback. Compared to other question-creation student club nationwide, we have a large number of members, which is great because it makes it easier to receive these benefits. Furthermore, there isn't much of a hierarchical structure among the members, and I like that we can easily participate in activities and have fun in a friendly atmosphere while still maintaining an academic feel!

We hold training camps twice a year, in spring and summer. In addition to question creation and related recreational activities, we also enjoy sightseeing and BBQs! The photo is from a trip to the Mt. Fuji area.
The Waseda University Sakumon student club is a creative environment where you can turn your learning and interests into "questions"—your "works of art"—and enjoy solving them with your friends. The genre is free, from riddles to specialized subjects! In a friendly atmosphere with no hierarchical structure, why not join us and enjoy the world of question-making? Be sure to check out our daily question-making posts on social media and the question sets we release at the school festival.
