Dear Friends of Waseda USA,

It is a great honor to assume the role of President of Waseda USA this fall.

My appointment comes at an important moment for Waseda University. Under the leadership of President Takayuki Homma (President’s Message – Waseda University), Waseda is embarking on a new chapter as it looks ahead to its 150th anniversary in 2032. Building on its founding principles and long-standing spirit of innovation and enterprise, the University is renewing its commitment to translating its ideals into action and to becoming “a Waseda that contributes to the world.”

As an organization supporting Waseda University in the United States, Waseda USA seeks to contribute to this mission by strengthening the University’s connections with its alumni, friends, students, and partners across the country. In particular, we hope to support opportunities that bring people together across borders, encourage meaningful educational and academic exchange, and extend the connections between Waseda and communities in the United States. This role resonates strongly with the University’s commitment to international perspectives, diverse values, and the exchange of knowledge across society.

As I begin my tenure, I look forward to building on the foundation established by those who have supported Waseda USA over the years. Working closely with Waseda University, we will continue to explore how Waseda USA can best support the University’s mission and help strengthen the ties that connect Waseda with the United States.

Above all, I hope Waseda USA will continue to be a welcoming point of connection for the wider Waseda community in the United States, bringing people together and supporting Waseda’s efforts to make meaningful contributions to the world.
