なぜSSLとして応募したか Why I applied to be an SSL
ICC学生スタッフを志望したきっかけは夏休みに行われた日中韓交流の宿泊イベントでした。フォトアドベンチャーやイングリッシュチャットクラブなどのイベントには参加経験があった私ですが、初の宿泊イベントで参加まではドキドキと不安もありました。しかしキャンプの中で留学生の友達も沢山出来、ホンネで語ることを通じて身をもって異文化交流を体験できました。異文化理解やコミュニケーションの大切さを改めて感じたこの体験を自分の中だけに留めることなく、ICCスタッフとして提供し、さらに深め、参加者が安心して交流を楽しめる環境作りに貢献したいと思うようになりました。
The reason I decided to apply for ICC student staff was a summer camp event that focused on Japan-China-Korea interactions. While I had previously participated in events such as Campus Photo Adventure and English Chat Club, this was my first time to attend an overnight event, so I was filled with both excitement and nervousness. However, during the camp, I made many new friends from overseas, and I was able to experience intercultural exchange through honest conversations. This experience reinforced to me the importance of cultural understanding and communication. I didn’t want to just keep these experiences to myself; I wanted to help provide them as an ICC staff member, deepen them further, and contribute to creating an environment where participants can feel comfortable and enjoy exchanging with each other.
SSLとして働くことへのやりがい Why I like being an SSL
SSLになって間もないですが、すでに沢山の素敵な経験をさせていただいています。イベントに携わった際には、参加者の方々の笑顔や生き生きとした表情をみてイベント運営のやりがいを感じますし、日々の業務は尊敬できる素晴らしい先輩SSLについていくことで精一杯ですが、先輩方をお手本にしながら少しづつ仕事を覚えることができ、達成感を感じています。素敵な仲間と恵まれた環境で仕事出来ることに感謝の気持ちでいっぱいです☻
It’s been not long since I joined as an SSL, but I’ve already had so many wonderful experiences. When I am involved in events, seeing the smiles and lively expressions of the participants makes me feel the reward of event management. In my daily tasks, I’m doing my best to follow the amazing senior SSLs who I look up to and little by little I’m learning from them and feeling accomplishment. I’m filled with gratitude for being able to work in such a wonderful environment with great colleagues. ☻
多様性・異文化理解について一言 About diversity and cultural exchange
多様性は様々な色が載せられたパレットのようなものだと思います。どの色も他と被ることなく、時に他の色と混じることでまた新たに色が生まれます。ICCで過ごす時間の中で、そんな多様性と異文化理解を皆さんと一緒にできたらいいなと思っています。ぜひICCに足を運んでみてください！
I think diversity is like a palette with various colors. Each color stands on its own, however, it is sometimes mixed with others and new colors are created. I hope to experience this diversity and intercultural understanding with you all at ICC. Please come visit us!
