なぜSSLとして応募したか Why I applied to be an SSL
小学校のころ６ヶ月間アメリカの学校に通ったことがあります。短い時間でしたが様々な国の人たちと交流し、すごく楽しかったです。その後、日本への留学を準備しながら日本に関連した国際交流行事に参加したり、サークルで直接イベントを企画したりして国際交流の魅力を再び感じました。大学でもそのような経験ができればいいなと思い、ICCに応募しました。
When I was in elementary school, I went to America for six months. It was a short time, but talking with people from various countries was an amazing experience to me. While preparing to study in Japan, I participated in international events related to Japan and planned some events with a student club. I felt the attraction of international exchange again. Because I wished I could also have such a chance at university, I applied to be an SSL.
SSLとして働くことへのやりがい Why I like being an SSL
私にとってのやりがいは様々な価値観を持った人たちと交流できるということです。ICCラウンジやイベントに来て下さる方々の声を聞き、交流できるのがすごく楽しいです。また、一緒に働いている先輩や同期のSSLたちと職員たちからいろいろ学び、話せるのがすごく楽しくてICCに来ることがいつも楽しみです！
It is so exciting that I can talk with people with various ways of thinking. It’s really fun to listen to the voices of people who come to the ICC lounge or events and to communicate with each other. Also, I am so happy to learn and talk to SSLs and FTs who I’m working with, so I look forward to coming to the ICC every time!
多様性・異文化理解について一言 About diversity and cultural exchange
異文化を理解するには直接経験が何よりも重要だと思います。ICCが主催する様々なイベントに参加して、異文化理解に一歩近づいてみるのはいかがでしょうか？
I think experience is more important than anything else in intercultural communication. Why don’t you take one step closer to understanding diversity by participating in various events with ICC?
