When you hear the word “umami”, most people probably think of Japanese cuisine. Certainly, Japanese food culture is centered on umami, but umami also has a huge influence on food cultures around the world.
What exactly is umami? While it a key element of world cuisine, not many people understand its true essence. At this event, in cooperation with the Umami Information Center and Ajinomoto Group, we have invited an expert to teach us about umami.
And the program includes tasting, so you can actually experience umami yourself.
Let’s explore world cuisine, which is often thought from cultural perspectives, through science of umami!
