なぜSSLとして応募したか Why I applied to be an SSL
私は親の仕事の都合上で小学校生活のほとんどをアメリカとカナダで過ごしました。特に移民の多いカナダでは、様々な文化と日常的に触れ合い異文化に興味を持つようになりました。ICCでは多様なバックグラウンドを持つ学生と交流を深めることができると思い、SSLに応募しました。
I spent most of my elementary school years in the U.S. and Canada due to my parent’s job. Especially in Canada, where there are many immigrants, I developed an interest in different cultures through daily contact with them. I applied to be an SSL because I thought that at ICC, I would be able to deepen my interaction with students from diverse backgrounds.
SSLとして働くことへのやりがい Why I like being an SSL
SSLとして働き始めてから様々な国や地域の知らない一面と数多く出会い、学ぶことばかりで刺激的な毎日を送ることができています。また、イベントの企画や準備は大変なこともありますが、それ以上に楽しく充実感があると感じています！
Since I started working as an SSL, I have encountered many aspects of various countries and regions that I did not know about, and I am constantly learning and experiencing exciting moments every day. Also, although planning and preparing for events can be a lot of work, it is even more enjoyable and fulfilling!
多様性・異文化理解について一言 About diversity and cultural exchange
理解を目標にするとどうしても「勉強感」が出てしまいますが、交流を目的にもっと気軽にお互いの文化に触れあうことができれば素敵だなと思います！
When the goal is to understand or gain knowledge, a sense of “studying” inevitably comes with it. So, I think it would be wonderful if we could interact and share each other’s cultures more casually!
