なぜSSLとして応募したか Why I applied to be an SSL
私は10月にデポー大学の学生との交流プログラムに参加したことを通して、初めてICCを知りました。このプログラムでは一週間に一回現地の大学の学生とZoomをつなぎ、5週間にわたり、お互いの生活、文化などを紹介していきました。この体験を通して、もっと積極的に国際交流をしたい、通常の授業では出会うことが難しい人と話してみたいと感じるようになりました。そして、このようなイベントやプログラムを提供しているICCで、他の学生にも国際交流のきっかけを作りたいという思いからSSLに応募することを決めました。
I first learned about ICC through my participation in an exchange programme with students from DePauw University in October. In this programme, I was able to talk with a student from DePauw university via Zoom once a week for five weeks, introducing our lifestyles and cultures to each other. This experience made me realize the fun of interacting with people from different cultures. It also became the reason for me to apply to be an SSL as I decided that I wanted to create events for other students to interact as well.
SSLとして働くことへのやりがい Why I like being an SSL
参加者がイベントで盛り上がっている瞬間や参加者同士で仲良くなっている様子を見ることにSSLとして働くことへのやりがいを感じます。また、尊敬できる先輩方や同期がいる環境の中で、ICCを紹介するプレゼンテーションなどの広報活動やイベントの運営側になることで自分をとても成長させることができる場所だと思います。ICCで働く中で、大学生ならでは、大学機関ならでは、経験できることが多く詰まっています！
Seeing participants having a great time at an event and making new friends, motivates me to want to continue working as an SSL. ICC is also a place where I can grow a lot. From doing presentations introducing ICC, sending requests to collaborate with companies, and managing our growing social media accounts, working at ICC is packed with experiences that only a university student can have, and only a university institution can offer!

Talking and interacting with other people is important. To do so you need to create that opportunity yourself.
