From July 2020 in Japan, all retailing businesses were required to begin charging money for plastic shopping bags. Also, the number of cafes getting rid of plastic straws and using paper ones instead continues to grow.
Have you all gotten used to it already?

For sure there are many people around you who have become interested in environmental and societal issues because of those familiar plastic bags.
In recent years, the keywords of sustainability and the environment have become especially common in our daily lives.

To deal with various worldwide problems, a set of concrete goals were fixed at a UN summit in September 2015, these are the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals). There are probably many of you that know the SDGs colourful logo.

So-called SDGs can come across as very difficult and on a large scale.
So now at the ICC, we have planned a talk session to teach you the ABCs of SDGs. Our guest is the President and CEO of SDG Partners, Mr. Kazuo Tase. Mr. Tase is an expert on SDGs who is active in a wide variety of fields and has appeared on TV and Radio and other media.

This event will be held online. Though it will be held on screen on the day, there will be time set aside for you to ask the guest questions directly.
So don’t be shy! Relax and ask away!

Do you want to think and know more about what you yourself can do starting tomorrow? We’ll be waiting for you to join us!
