What do you imagine when you hear “Singapore”?
Maybe you think of the tourist spots like the Merlion and the Marina Bay Sands, or perhaps of local food such as chicken rice and Laksa. Singapore has recently started to attract more attention of being the venue of the 2018 North Korea-United States summit. It is not only famous for it’s tourism, but also being a popular study abroad destination.
One of the features Singapore is known for is cultural diversity. From Chinese, Malaysian, Indian, the population is made up of a variety of ethnicities, and respective language is considered equally as an official language, making Singapore one of the most diverse developed countries.
This time, the ICC will introduce you to all the fascinating aspects Singapore has to offer in a very enjoyable way!
We have invited the Singapore Tourism Board to present the latest tourist information, Singaporean exchange students to talk about their culture, and a mini Singlish session. You will be able to experience Singaporean culture through a variety of activities.
There’s more fantastic news! The NO.1 chicken rice brand from Singapore “Wee Nam Kee” (which has stores in Tokyo) has provided us with their “Hinanese Chicken Rice” and “Dessert” and also the long-established store founded in 1933 in Singapore “Bee Cheng Hiang” (which also has stores in Tokyo) has provided us “Bakkwa(Sliced Pork)” for this special occasion! (100 people portions, first come first served.)
This event is a great chance to learn more about Singaporean culture, and also try out it’s local food.
We hope to see you at the event!
