Traditional Japanese Dance & Yukata Wearing (June 25)
– Join a dance workshop & try on a yukata! -【Sign Up Period: June 1 – June 21】
Receive basic instruction in traditional Japanese dance from the famous performer and teacher: Ms. Kaari Koide from the Koide School of dance in this one-time special workshop. You can also try wearing a traditional yukata with members from the Waseda Wakamono-kimono-kai.
※You’ll wear the Yukata over your own clothes so please wear something light.

The Tsugaru-jamisen lovers circle “Mitsudomoe” and the Wadaiko circle “Sakigake Hibiki” present their extremely popular performances of Tsugaru-jamisen and Wadaiko drumming.
Come and feel the power of the traditional Japanese instruments!

Ikebana Workshop (June 29) -Try your hand at the Japanese art of flower arrangement-【Sign Up Period: June 1 – June 21】
Ikebana is the traditional Japanese art of arranging flowers for display. For this Ikebana event, a teacher from the Ikebana school – Sogetsu School – will give an Ikebana demonstration followed by an Ikebana workshop, where you can try making your own display.
After the workshop, you’ll be able to take the flowers with you as souvenirs that you can enjoy in your home! This is a great chance to see up close the skill of a professional Ikebana teacher and receive instruction from her directly.
