When you think of autumn, what do you think of? The falling golden brown leaves, Halloween pumpkins and of course the traditional harvesting of crops!
At the ICC “Rice-Planting” event in Spring, our participants all planted rice seeds together by hand whilst getting covered in mud in the fields.
And now, with the passing of summer and coming of autumn, it is time to harvest those golden ears of rice which have grown from the seeds of spring.
At this event, we will gather Waseda students from around the world to come and harvest the rice together by hand while chatting and making friends. Feel the importance and deliciousness of Japan’s staple crop in your own hands!
After harvesting the rice, we will have lunch in the beautiful natural surroundings of Waseda’s Tokorozawa Campus. Bring your lunch and share your culture together with your fellow participants.
Those who participated in the spring rice planting event can also participate in this event as well!
