Do you love Japanese food?
With Japanese food, the one ingredient you cannot do without is rice!
Rice has been a staple of Japanese cooking for over 3000 years, and these days there are many different names for brands and types of rice that comes from various places around Japan.
At the ICC during spring and autumn, we are holding a fun event where Waseda students from all over the world can grow and harvest rice together!
In spring we have the “Rice Planting” event, where you can have fun planting real rice in the wet muddy field.
And in autumn, after a summer of growth, we will host the “Rice Harvest” event, where you can harvest the golden ears of rice from the field yourself.
The spring event includes an “Orientation”, “Rice Planting activity” and a free “Rice-ball Lunch”!
Please come and take part in the ICC’s first rice planting event!
