ICC Australian Culture Night – From aboriginal music and art to modern culture (2017.5.12)

Poster

Program revised a bit.

What comes to mind when you hear “Australia”?

Is it the majestic beauty of natural landscapes and world heritage sites like Uluru (Ayers Rock)? Or the wonderfully charming sight of Koala bears and Kangaroos?
Australia is a multicultural land made up of people from all over the world. A place where you can feel diversity everywhere you go.
It’s also one of the most popular places amongst students for working holidays and studying abroad.

Now the ICC is bringing you a taste of the beauty of this country with an event focusing on Australian culture.
Australian students at Waseda and a person from the Australian Embassy in Tokyo will present to you the youth culture of today’s Australia.

And of course, we want to introduce the culture of the Aborigine Australians too.
You can enjoy a performance of one of the oldest wind instruments in the world, the didgeridoo, and there will also be a chance for you to try playing the didgeridoo yourself!

During the Cafe Time at the end of the event, you will also be able to hang out with Australian students and the performers, while tasting great Australian wine and yummy Slider – a type of small hamburger!

So if you’re thinking of taking a holiday to Australia or even studying abroad there, come to our Australian Culture Night and experience the culture you won’t find in a guide book! Who knows, you might discover a piece of Australia you didn’t know before.
