Are these the things that come to mind when you think about Taiwan?
Thanks to its close geographical location, Taiwan shares many cultural traits with Japan, however you might be surprised to learn that it’s actually a multiethnic society with diverse aboriginal cultures.
For this festival, the ICC is cooperating with the Waseda Taiwanese Student Association to present you with all the need-to-know info about this fascinaing region.
We’ll begin with an opening speech from a Taiwanese university official at Waseda, followed by presentations and quizzes prepared by Taiwanese students who will tell you “stories” about the different areas of Taiwan.
After there’ll be an aboriginal dance performace and then during the cafe time you’ll have the chance to try some Taiwanese treats and play traditional games with new Taiwanese friends!
When asked what exactly is Taiwan’s charm, the most common answer is “the people”, so this is a great chance for you to “meet the locals”.
Go beyond the surface of what you’ve heard from the media and delve deeper into Taiwan’s unique culture and charm!
