When we talk about Germany we often think about bubbling beer and succulent sausages
but this central European nation has so much more to offer!
There are of course the enchanting castles like Neuschwanstein, the romantic medieval villages of the countryside, the vast natural beauty of the Black Forest and the lush vineyards lining the River Rhine.
Each of Germany’s many federal states have their own distinctive local character.
Whether it’s the historically significant capital of Berlin, the financial hub of Frankfurt or the picturesque harbor city of Hamburg, Germany is packed full of contrasting landscapes.
The homeland of Bach, Beethoven and Brahms to name but a few, Germany has played a central role in shaping classical music over the centuries.
In this ICC German Culture & Music Night there’ll be a short talk on German music, wine and travel by Prof. Fujii from the Faculty of Letters, Arts and Sciences, followed by a presentation from Waseda’s own German students, a performance from a classical string duo and finally you’ll have a chance to try some German white wine during the cafe time. Don’t miss this culturally enriching evening!
