I had always had a vague goal of wanting to be able to speak English, but since I rarely had opportunities to use it in my daily life, I often wondered how I could practice. One day, I learned about this event through an email from the university and decided to join for the first time with a friend.
At first, I was nervous and could only manage awkward conversations, but as time went on, I gradually gained confidence and was able to speak more comfortably with the people at my table. The friendly atmosphere made it easy to ask questions whenever I made grammatical mistakes or didn’t know certain expressions, which I really appreciated.
For someone like me who doesn’t have many chances to speak English on a regular basis, this event was an invaluable opportunity to put my skills into practice and spend meaningful time using English. I realized how important it is to actively participate in these kinds of events to keep improving my English. I truly recommend ICC-hosted events to students who don’t have many opportunities to speak English in their everyday lives.
