The ICC Japanese Chat Club offers an excellent chance to enhance your language skills while connecting with a diverse group of individuals. The club is an event where you can meet other international students and forge valuable connections, as well as have a chance to improve your listening and speaking skills with native Japanese speakers.
In each session, pre-selected topics facilitated the exchange of diverse perspectives on Japan from individuals with different cultural backgrounds, enabling a deeper comprehension of Japanese culture and its distinctions. Each session featured a rotating group of participants, providing a chance to gradually become acquainted with everyone. Moreover, some meetings incorporated structured games, which not only fostered a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere but also served as an effective means to engage participants, creating a more dynamic environment and enhancing social interactions. Such activities were instrumental in easing participants into conversations, thereby facilitating smoother and more natural language practice.

A huge thank you goes to the Japanese supporters, whose invaluable help significantly boosted every participant’s experience. Their exceptional dedication was evident in their responsiveness to questions about linguistic and cultural nuances, providing insightful explanations. They also clarified each activity in detail and ensured that all attendees understood the task.
I am grateful for the opportunity to have participated in the Japanese Chat Club, an experience that was both enjoyable and enriching. I would certainly encourage others to participate in these events because the supportive staff and friendly participants cultivate a genuinely welcoming atmosphere where you can connect socially and expand your horizons.
