In association with Tokyo Medical and Dental University, the ICC is holding an English Discussion Cafe where students from diverse backgrounds and departments can freely discuss current international issues in an open environment.
This will be the 4th time we’ve cooperated with Tokyo Medical and Dental University and the theme is “Making Japan an International Society”, in particular focusing on foreign tourism and immigration policy.
With the 2020 Tokyo Olympics drawing ever closer, every year more and more tourists are arriving in the city. But how can Japan overcome cultural barriers and showcase its charm to these new visitors?
Of course increasing the number of tourists also has implications for long term foreign residents as well as those wishing to immigrate to Japan and it is impossible to envision a future for Japanese society without discussing these important issues.
Since Waseda does not have a medical or dental department, this is a unique opportunity for Waseda students to hold English discussions with medical students, including short term exchange students from The University of Western Australia. Sign up today and discover new ways of thinking and broaden your horizons!
