Two strangers meet. A quiet conversation begins.
At the ICC Book Night, you’ll be paired with a fellow participant, and through shared words and laughter, you’ll begin to glimpse each other’s inner worlds.
After getting to know each other, you’ll wander the quiet shelves of the Haruki Murakami Library, not to find a book for yourself, but to find one for your partner. It might be a story that mirrors their spirit, a tale you sense they would like, or simply a message wrapped between pages that you wish to send them.
Later, with a drink in hand, we’ll gather in small circles to share the reason behind each book we chose.
In this simple act of giving a story, you may find one given to you that opens a door you didn’t know was waiting.
You don’t need to be a reader to join, just someone willing to listen, to offer, and to discover.

This event will include a tour of the library, a book selection, and a social time.
★Library Tour
Kengo Kuma, who also designed the National Stadium, renovated the building to create comfortable reading and social spaces.
★Selection of Books
Using the topic sheet, ask questions to your partner to get to know them better. Once you have a clearer image of your partner, you will be asked to choose one or two books for your partner from the books on the shelves in the library.

★Exchange Time
You will give the book you selected to your partner and explain the reason behind your choice in a small group. By having someone else choose a book for you, you might be able to see yourself in a different perspective.
