For those seeking to make friends or just to meet new people, the English Chat Club is a perfect place to do so. As an international student, I had been searching for activities to participate in and I happened to come across ECC. I participated in the November chat club and my role was to help facilitate the conversation for the three members in my group. My group members had varying skills in English but together we were able to make sure that everyone could communicate. We talked about our student lives, favorite restaurants around Waseda, cool places to visit in Japan, and much more.

It was an educational and fulfilling experience for my groupmates and myself! Not only were my groupmates able to improve and feel more comfortable speaking English, but I also learned a lot from them because my group came from many different countries and backgrounds. And don’t worry, the ICC provides you with lots of support with planned activities and directions.
Afterwards, you will have many familiar faces around campus, of both the participants and fellow supporters. If you are still debating whether to become a supporter or not, I strongly suggest you try it! You have the valuable opportunity to meet people of different backgrounds and learn about the cultures and interests of others!
