なぜSSLとして応募したか Why did you apply to be an SSL?
人に、何かかプラスになれるものや価値を届けることに魅力を感じたからです。それをかなえるために、SSLになることが私にとっての近道でした。日本に来て二年目になって、留学生として国際交流の場に飛び込み、様々なイベントを企画・運営したが、自分が思う理想的な「異文化交流」の価値を提供することができませんでした。その時に現れたのがICCでした。ICCでは、異文化交流のど真ん中にいる学生スタッフさんたちによる、異文化交流のためのイベントが数多く開催されています。世界中から集まったメンバーたちと一緒に楽しく企画をすることと同時に、外部の企業や組織と連携することも多いので、社会人になるための第一歩を踏み出せると思います。学生でありながら、本格的に国際交流に取り組むのがここしかない！と思って応募させていただきました。
I was drawn to the idea of providing valuable experiences to others, and becoming an SSL seemed like the best way to do this. After spending two years in Japan and joining many international exchange events, I realized that my dream of “intercultural exchange” hadn’t really come true until I found ICC. All run by dedicated student staff, the ICC offers a great place with many events focused on intercultural exchange. Working with people from around the world and with organizations outside of campus has been a wonderful experience, helping me take my first steps toward a professional career. I’m sure there’s no better place to deeply engage in international exchange as a university student!

「異なる文化背景＝個性」
どんな言語を使っているのか、どんなことを経験してきたのか、それがすべてその人の個性だと思います。自分以外の人とコミュニケーションを取るときに、お互いは対等な立場というより、同じ立場にいることを意識し、心がけています。
“Different cultural backgrounds = personality”
The language people speak and the experiences they have shape their personalities. When communicating with others, I always tell myself that we are not only equal but also standing on the same ground.
