Hey fellow Waseda students! As an exchange student from Singapore, I was eager to sign up for ICC’s events to make more Japanese and international friends. Furthermore, since I was still relatively unfamiliar with the school’s large compound, I felt that participating in the Photo Scavenger Hunt would be beneficial because it is essentially getting a quick tour of the school.
We were put into groups and had a whole list of places within the campus to go to and some quests to complete within a set time limit. They were categorised into difficulty levels, where the harder-to-locate places awarded higher points and vice-versa. I was lucky to have been in a group where everyone else was a full-time Waseda student, so they were largely familiar with where everything was located. I therefore took on the role of photographer as we had to take selfies at the various locations.

My teammates were really spontaneous and energetic throughout the scavenger hunt. Sometimes we ran from one point to another, and it was heartening to see how everyone worked together to achieve a common goal. Surprisingly, we emerged champions!!

Overall, the event was well organised, and it was really fun. If you are keen on making international and Japanese friends and, at the same time, get a quick tour of the school, this event is for you!
