2026年9月26日（土）と27日（日）の2日間、GLFP協定校から来日したUS学生と、アメリカ留学から帰国した早大生が参加する、GLFP第13期生ボンディングイベントを実施しました。これから1年間ともに学ぶ仲間が初めて顔を合わせ、様々な体験を通じて交流を深める機会となりました。
On Saturday, September 26, and Sunday, September 27, 2026, we held a bonding event for the GLFP 13th cohort, bringing together incoming US students from GLFP partner universities and Waseda students returning from their studies in the United States. The event gave students their first opportunity to meet the peers they will be learning alongside over the coming year and to get to know one another through shared experiences.
1日目は、自己紹介からスタートしました。その後、早大生による三味線の演奏を楽しみ、抹茶ラテづくりのワークショップを通じて親交を深めました。和やかな雰囲気の中で会話が弾み、学生たちの距離も少しずつ縮まっていきました。ランチとキャンパスツアーに続き、田辺寿一郎先生によるキックオフレクチャーを受講し、これから始まるGLFPでの学びに向けて気持ちを新たにしました。
The first day began with self-introductions, followed by a shamisen performance by a Waseda student and a matcha latte-making workshop. These activities created a relaxed atmosphere where conversations flowed and students began to feel more comfortable with one another. After lunch and a campus tour, the students attended a kick-off lecture by Professor Juichiro Tanabe, setting the stage for their year of learning together in GLFP.
2日目は早稲田に集合し、東京の文化や街の魅力に触れるツアーに出かけました。まず、両国の江戸東京博物館で日本の歴史や文化を学び、ランチにはちゃんこ鍋を囲みました。その後は豊洲の千客万来で食べ歩きを楽しみ、塩見神社ではお守りづくりのワークショップに参加しました。最後には、はとバスツアーで東京の名所を巡り、様々な角度から東京を知る一日となりました。
On the second day, we gathered at Waseda before setting out to explore Tokyo’s culture and neighborhoods. Our first stop was the Edo-Tokyo Museum in Ryogoku, where students learned about Japanese history and culture, followed by a chanko nabe lunch together. We then enjoyed sampling different foods at Toyosu Senkyaku Banrai and took part in an omamori-making workshop at Shiomi Shrine. The day concluded with a Hato Bus tour of Tokyo’s landmarks, offering students a variety of ways to experience the city.
2日間の様々なアクティビティを通じて、学生同士の会話や笑顔が増え、13期生としての絆を育むことができました。これから1年間、授業やプログラムの活動を通じて互いに学び合い、支え合いながら、ともに成長していくことを楽しみにしています。
Through the activities over these two days, students shared conversations and laughter and began building bonds as the 13th cohort. We look forward to seeing them learn from one another, support each other, and grow together through their classes and GLFP activities over the coming year.
