For those who are interested in studying abroad but hesitant to join the Global Leadership Fellows Program (GLFP), I still strongly recommend you apply. The GLFP offers even more than the chance to study at a top-tier American school (or Waseda, in the case of students from American institutions). The program will enable you to pursue the most prestigious career you could imagine. The matchless three years I spent in the GLFP offered me a close-knit network of top-tier students in the United States and Japan. My colleagues were all charming, hardworking, and enthusiastic. We got along very well and had many meaningful discussions during the original seminars and the two exciting field trips prepared for the GLFP students. I attended Johns Hopkins and interned as a research assistant at the Wilson Center, a governmental think tank in Washington, DC. I learned a lot from the professors I met at these wonderful institutions, and I am still in contact with them. The GLFP might challenge you. It requires you to sustain high work standards and be sociable. But these expectations will certainly shape your character. If you are an ambitious young student, join our community!
