Research Theme

The aim is to establish a practical methodology for “developing career design skills in higher education institutions” by constructing “career design studies” and “learning service theory” through an organic combination of practice and theory, and by fusing these two. Specifically, the following　research themes will be promoted through the fusion of theory and practice.

(1) Practice, evaluation and analysis of “Career Design Studies”, and development of new curricula
(2) Development and implementation of new technologies that respond to social needs related to “learning services”
(3) Research and practice related to learning and education as a service

Research Summary

We plan to approach research from a new perspective, particularly in the following areas
+ The curriculum for “Career Design Studies” will be substantially revised. As a result of the implementation of classes from 2010 and the results of Research Theme
(1), the content is converging towards that which has a high educational effect. Here, the results of Research Theme (2) and Research Theme (3) will be integrated, and the curriculum will be revised to have a higher educational effect and greater connectivity with society. At present, the course is run as a 14-lesson (2-credit) course, but we plan to develop it into a multi-subject course with a hierarchical structure and continuity, such as an introductory course and a practical course.
+ Regarding Research Theme (2), we plan to develop the current basic research findings into practical research through joint research with companies.
+ Regarding research theme (3), we will continue to develop research and dissemination activities so that the development of human resource development standards can be applied to a wider range of target areas and human resource areas.
