On Thursday, July 16, 2026, Waseda University welcomed participants of the JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) Tanzania Sport Administration Training Program at its Higashifushimi Campus.
Five trainees from the Ministry of Information, Culture, Arts and Sports of Tanzania and the National Sports Council of Tanzania visited the campus to attend lectures and tour university facilities. Several faculty members served as lecturers, introducing the organizational structures and activities of the Faculty of Sport Sciences, the Waseda Institute of Sport Sciences, and the Athletic Center, as well as their collaborations with domestic and international partners. Lectures were also delivered on topics including health, public administration, business, and their relationships with sports.
The trainees expressed that the program provided them with a highly valuable and enriching learning experience. They also shared their hope that members of Waseda University would have the opportunity to visit Tanzania in the future.
It is expected that this training program will serve as a catalyst for further strengthening exchanges and collaboration between the Faculty of Sport Sciences at Waseda University and the Government of Tanzania.
