This public lecture invites Professor Nottage, a leading scholar of Japanese law in the area of Oceania with deep expertise in consumer law and arbitration law. This event aims to deliver a lecture and engage in discussions with Japanese academics, practitioners, and students, creating an opportunity for mutual learning and growth.

3. Abstract
Professor Nottage and Professor Souichirou Kozuka of Gakushuin University have been implementing a joint research project on consumer law based on comparative law between Japan and Australia (specifically, “Consumer Law Redress and Administration, Product Safety Regulation and Contracts in Japan and Australia” and “Redesigning Consumer Law for the E-Commerce Era: Insights from Comparing Australia and Japan”). Drawing on cutting-edge practical developments in international transactions and the latest comparative law research, this public lecture will present on the current situation and challenges of consumer law, followed by an opportunity for discussion with Japanese participants.
