Details

As the COVID-19 pandemic gradually subsides, theoretical analysis is now underway to utilize this experience in dealing with future infectious disease pandemics. This symposium aims to discuss the domestic legal systems and international frameworks for responding to new pandemics from the perspective of legal systems, focusing on the positions of Japan and the United States.

In the first and second sessions, each presenter will give a 20-minute presentation followed by a 5-minute question and answer section. The third session will consist of a panel discussion. Three panelists from the O’Neill Institute and three panelists from Waseda University will discuss “Legal Systems Necessary for Responding to New Infectious Disease Pandemics” from the perspective of comparative law.
