【Abstract】
This lecture will explore the legal issues concerning the establishment of a parent-child relationship through assisted reproductive technology among same-sex couples, from a comparative law perspective.
Dr. Philip Bremner, a Lecturer at King’s College London who specializes in English family law, has recently focused his research on co-parenting by same-sex couples and multi-parenthood.
In this lecture, Dr. Bremner is scheduled to present on the legal framework and recent arguments concerning the establishment of a legal parent-child relationship for same-sex couples in England. The Moderator, Prof. Yuki Hashimoto, will also present on the current situation under Japanese law. Through a comparison of the two countries, this lecture is intended to provide an opportunity to deepen the discussion of the legal issues surrounding the formation of families by same-sex couples and their future prospects.
